Spoken Word Festival
Spoken Word Festival brings poetry, music and connection to life in August. Discover performances, readings and workshops across central Odense.
Spoken Word Festival – or simply SPOKEN – is Odense’s summer celebration of words, rhythm and human connection, hosted by Studenterhus Odense. Every August, the city turns into a lively stage for poetry, sound and storytelling, offering a mix of readings, performances, talks and workshops.
With community and creativity at its heart, SPOKEN blends genres and voices to create a warm, relaxed atmosphere where everyone’s invited. You can experience everything from poetry slams and diary readings to writing workshops, live music and open mic nights.
The festival welcomes both emerging and established artists, giving space to new ideas and fresh perspectives. Whether you’re deep into literature or just curious about spoken word, there’s something to discover – or take part in – at SPOKEN.
Recurring formats include ‘Dear Diary’, philosophical conversations, literary salons and interactive events that invite you to join the fun. The whole thing unfolds in Odense city centre, at venues like Studenterhus Odense, Brandts, Kulturmaskinen and Teater Momentum – all within walking distance from the main train station.
Travelling by public transport is easy, and once you’re in town, everything’s close. Ready to dive into a week of poetry, sound and shared experiences? Check the festival website for programme updates and join us in August.
